​DONATION GUIDELINES

For Books

• MAXMIMUM of 50 books per donation due to very limited storage space
• All donations must be in very clean, undamaged condition with previous price tags or stickers removed
• We cannot accept the following: school or library books, dictionaries, textbooks, national geographic, encyclopedias, atlases, manuals, reader's digest, books stamped by other used bookstores
• Special edition magazines only 

Exceptions: older books from these categories are welcome, even if slightly damaged or "old" looking

• Military
• Westerns
• Royalty
• Historical​

For Puzzles and Games

• ALL PREVIOUS PRICE TAGS/STICKERS MUST BE REMOVED
• ALL DONATIONS TO BE IN NEXT TO NEW CONDITION, & CONTAIN ALL PIECES.​

ABOUT the Bookstore

​After an absence of 5 years, the SHAVA bookstore is back having opened on September 6, 2022. SHAVA volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring this reopening dream to fruition. The support of the residents of St.Albert and surrounding area, by way of book donations, has been overwhelming. From the day the doors opened, customer comments have been extremely encouragining, with many, many visitors expressing how happy they are to see the bookstore operating again. In the first year of operation, approximately 28,000 books, puzzles, or games were sold. THE SHELVES REMAIN WELL STOCKED FROM CONTINUING DONATIONS, AND THE WORK AREA AT THE BACK OF THE STORE IS NEAR OVERFLOWING. SHAVA expresses their gratitude to all book donors and customers, as well as to all hospital staff who have contributed books to the store and or have visited the store to find their next good read.

staff members of the sturgeon community hospital held a book drive to support the bookstore. Karen Maier (Sturgeon site manager) kindly delivered these donations to the bookstore on Nov 4, 2022 where they were graciously accepted by Jocelyne Durocher (president) and Halina Boisvert (bookstore coordinator).
