PARTY Program
A cheque was presented to Jocelyne Durocher (SHAVA President) and Karen Maier (Sturgeon Site Manager) from PARTY Program volunteer Dean Krawec on November 4th, 2022. This volunteer driven program started in 1994 and ran until March of 2020. PARTY (Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth), facilitated by Dean from 1999 - 2020 enabled Grade 9 students to participate in a full day program which helped students recognize risks, make informed safe choices, and increase their knowledge of the impact of severe injury and quality of life for themselves and the community. The cheque, in the amount of $327.32, was graciously accepted by SHAVA, who will include the amount in their next annual gift to the Sturgeon Community Hospital.
SHAVA Announces A new logo
In August 2022, SHAVA introduced a new logo. Not only does this update of the logo provide a "refreshed" new look but it also recognizes the long history of SHAVA. Many of the key elements from the original logo were maintained with the addition of new contemporary elements and the year in which the organization was founded. We hope you like this new logo as much as we do!
